San Angelo Gives
written by sabrina forse
Every May, San Angelo is called to “GIVE” to non-profits. San Angelo Gives is a 24-hour online event that collects donations for more than 170 Concho Valley area non-profit organizations. The San Angelo Area Foundation drives the campaign with help from local and area sponsors. In the wake of COVID-19 and social distancing, events that non-profits rely on as fundraisers have been cancelled, leaving a gap in their budgets.
“Now more than ever, our local charities need community support. With many spring fundraisers canceled, San Angelo Gives is positioned perfectly for donors to support their favorite causes remotely," said Janet Karcher, Vice President of Development and Marketing at the San Angelo Area Foundation. "Gifts made through sanangelogives.org are amplified and giving can also help causes win extra cash. Although the past few weeks have been unique, we have witnessed great resilience and organizations stepping up when needed most. San Angelo Gives is a way we can step up for local causes.”
San Angelo Gives kicks off at midnight on May 5, 2020. $10 is the minimum donation and there is no maximum. Throughout the event, there will be matching funds and amplification opportunities. In 2019, San Angelo Gives generated more than $2.2 million dollars. Since 2015, more than $7 million dollars has been raised through San Angelo Gives. You can donate on May 5, 2020 but there are also advanced giving opportunities. To donate, CLICK HERE.
