Valentine’s Day is less than a week away, and while store-bought Valentines are always easy and convenient, it’s also fun to make your own that really come from the heart - pun intended! Here are a few of our favorites:
1. For a simple twist on the classic Valentine’s treat, conversation hearts, purchase small plastic bags in bulk, and print themed bag toppers on your home printer, then staple them to the tops of the bags. Your child can then write their classmates’ names and/or decorate the toppers.
2. Check out Party City for enough crazy straws for your child’s classmates and slip them into this free printable template. Punch two holes in each card and slip the straw in.
3. For these cute "Valentine, you are just write" cards, grab a box or two of colorful or patterned pencils and print the heart valentine. Punch two holes in each heart and slide in the pencils.
4. Don’t forget your own kiddo this Valentine’s Day! Sneak some jokes and messages into his or her lunch box as a sweet surprise. One joke option: “Are you a banana? Because I find you a-peel-ing!” The “You are sweet!” attached to a piece of candy also never fails to satisfy every kiddo’s sweet tooth.
