The Concho Valley Home for Girls and Children’s Emergency Shelter are in need of specific hygiene items.
The Children’s Emergency Shelter temporarily houses children who are newborn up to 17 years old as they wait for permanent or long-term placement.
The Concho Valley Home for Girls is home to teen girls 14 years and older who will most likely age out of the foster care system.
The Concho Valley Transition Center is part of a national initiative to help current and former foster care children achieve specific goals by the age of 25, such as education, employment or job training, and parenting skills.
Items needed for men, women, and children include shampoo and conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, deodorant, sunscreen, lotion, hair brushes, laundry soap, pump hand soap, household cleaners, dish soap, dryer sheets. Toothbrushes and bar soap are not needed at this time.
Donations may be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday at 412 Preusser Street.
Monetary donations are also always accepted and can be made at conchokids.org.
