Sandal Season Ready
Spring means warmer weather and more time spent
outside. It also means showing off more skin. Give your winter feet
the boot and get your dry heels ready for those sandals with this easy,
effective home remedy.
- 1/2 cup mouthwash (Listerine)
- 1/2 cup vinegar (apple cider vinegar with the mother in it is best)
- 4 cups of very warm water
- footbath or large container to submerge feet
Soak your feet until the water is cold, pull your feet out and scrub your heels vigorously with a towel to remove any dead skin that has loosened up. Follow with a thick lotion or ointment and wear a pair of socks to bed.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Mouthwash has antiseptic ingredients that kill bacteria and other microorganisms. Vinegar helps to soften the callouses on your feet because it is a mild acid, so it will wear away a little of the dead skin. As an added bonus – vinegar kills mold – so if you have any fungus problems, this may help!
